By Car:

Austria’s highway network leads right into Vienna, allowing a comfortable and convenient trip to Vienna by car or coach from anywhere on the European continent.


By Train:

International and national trains arriving at ‘Hauptbahnhof’ have a direct connection to metro line U1. National trains may also arrive at ‘Westbahnhof’ which is connected with metro line U3.


By Plane:

73 international airlines offer scheduled services to Vienna. There are several daily flights between Vienna and Europe’s main capitals and business centres. Austrian Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, connects 174 destinations worldwide with Vienna and offers modern aircraft and excellent service. Vienna International Airport at Schwechat, 19 km from the city centre, is state-of-the-art in every respect. From the airport to the city centre and vice versa you can go by bus, train, CAT, or you can take a taxi.


Public transportation:

The Viennese public transport network provides modern and efficient accessibility within the city limits, making it easy for delegates to explore Vienna by bus, tram, or metro. On weekends metro operates at least every 15 minutes through the night from Friday morning to Sunday evening. Please see the City Map of the Wiener Linien here.

The University of Vienna is located in the immediate vicinity of the underground station ‘Schottentor’ of metro line U2 and the tram stations of lines 1, 2, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, and D.
