Novi Sad, Serbia

Situated on the left bank of the river Danube, facing the famous Petrovaradin fortress, Novi Sad is the cultural, scientific and economical center of the region of Vojvodina. As the capital of this north district of Serbia and the second largest city in the country, it lies on the junction of E-75, the railway between Budapest and Belgrade and the waterways of the Danube. All this, together with close proximity of the International airport “Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade, makes it a perfect, easy-to-access, popular hotspot of the Balkan region.

Arriving by plane

The nearest international airport is Belgrade International Airport “Nikola Tesla” (85km) connected with Novi Sad by a highway. If you are arriving through this airport, there are several transfer possibilities:

  1. Special transfer service for GAMM 2013 participants will be offered within the registration form, and subject to additional charge.
  2. Several taxi services operate on this route, and their price is around 50 €.
  3. Regular minibus transfer service between the airport and the main bus station in Novi Sad is operating daily by the price of 950 RSD (around 9 €), for updated schedule and more information visit http://www.gspns.rs/aerodrom.php.
  4. Several Rent a car agencies are operating at the airport.

Arriving by train

The easiest way to reach Novi Sad from most European countries by train is through Budapest. For detailed info and train schedules visit www.bahn.de, but, please, be aware that serious time delays frequently occur on Serbian railways.

Arriving by car (main route)

Around the city

Once you have arrived to Novi Sad, getting around the city is easy.
Most of Novi Sad hotels are in walking distance of both downtown, and the University of Novi Sad. City busses are operating by the price of around 0.50 € per ride. Using one of the city taxi services is cheap, since the price of a usual ride vary between 1.50 € and 3.50 €.
